FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What's up with the name Bhss?
Bhss (pronounced "Biss") is my nickname and alias that I created when I was a kid. It's short for Chris The Bhss. It's what a lot of my friends call me. Originally it was just something funny to rhyme with "Chris," although i've adopted several acronyms to it.How long have you been drawing/painting/airbrushing,etc?
I've been drawing ever since I can remember and although I've used colored pencils, markers, and paint as a kid, I really didn't start painting until college. I also taught myself how to airbrush starting in high school and throughout college. What are your prices like?
Pricing work isn't always simple and can vary from illustration and design to custom airbrushing. It really depends on the project, time, materials, etc. What type of equipment/tools do you use?
For digital art I use a Macbook Pro, 24" monitor, and a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet. My main software is Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Corel Painter. For airbrushing I use mostly Iwata guns and Createx/Wicked paint. I also incorporate mechanical and drawing pencils, colored pencils, brushes and tube acrylics. Whatever gets the job done!Where do you get your inspiration?
Life, people, music, movies, video games, hip-hop culture, client requests, as well as the Bible. Quite often, I find that ideas can come simply from sketching or doodling on paper.I've heard you really like lions? Is that true? What's the deal?
Honestly, who doesn't? Lions are cool. They're the King of the Beasts, majestic, and highly symbolic creatures. I really identify with lions. Even Christ is called "The Lion of Judah" in scripture. If you don't like lions at all, you really have serious issues. (I'm kidding). I'm proud to say that I have a "borderline obsession with LIONS"
